A SONIC VIEW
by Claudia Molitor.
Performing at Tate Britain Gallery
A Sonic View, commissioned to composer Claudia Molitor for the reopening of the Grand Saloon at Tate Britain, playfully contemplates the relationship between looking and listening, between real and imagined sounds and sights.
It was in the process of making this work that Molitor asked performers involved to share their personal journeys through London both sonically and visually, part of which was due to be incorporated into the vocal performance. Beside preparing my vocal and sound contribution to Monitor's performance work, a mix of field recording of a series of walks from London Bridge to Tate Britain Gallery , I also realised a little booklet that included a series of sound notations in the shape of maps, in which London has taken the appearance of a immaginative animal: the Hydraulophone, half Hydra Half Sound Landscape Instrument. Enjoy the documentation (maps and audios) of my contribution in here.
